Big Cell....

We got over an inch of rain last night.  That is a lot for us, but still not enough to pull us out of the drought. I opened the window and turned off the a/c for the first time in months so I could listen to the rain and thunder.  We're suppose to get more rain tonight...needless to say, I'm looking forward to it!

New App...

I got a new app today.  I spent all of .99c on it.  I can already tell that I'll be using it a lot!  It has lots of functionality!  Pretty amazing for .99c...but it did say that it was on sale.  I know a lot of people who wait till apps go on sale to buy them.  Sometimes I can't wait and sometimes I get lucky!  :)

National Geographic Photo of the Day

Gecko Picture -- Animal Wallpaper -- National Geographic Photo of the Day
WTH is this?  I know it says a Knob-Tailed Gecko, but to me it kind
of looks like a cross between a lizard, a chipmunk and a frog!

With it being well over 110 lately, I have to do my photo walks indoors.  Here are some from today at Costco.

Sunset

Sunset by Aperture My Eye
Sunset, a photo by Aperture My Eye on Flickr.

My favorite "backyard" weather photos. As much as I hate the monsoon here, it does make for a lot of great photo ops!

I love lighting pictures.  I love taking them...I mean trying to take them.  :)

A really BIG family

This is a first.  I've seen a much smaller version of the family stickers, but now they have lima's, ostridge, chicken...etc.  Now, I've seen it all.  :)

My Thought of the Day....

Pocket Change Jinglers....There was a guy standing outside my cube talking to someone else (not me), and for the entire 15 minute (or so) discussion he was jingling the change in his pocket.  It was starting to get annoying, but then I started thinking about it...who, now a days, carries change?  Doesn't everyone use a debit card?  I haven't used change in a long time.  Heck, even vending machines take cards, and there aren't any pay phones anymore.  I guess there are still some people out there that actually use cash for stuff...maybe lunch?  Somehow, I even manage to have a bunch of change in the bottom of my purse, and when my husband gets home he empties his pockets and...there it is...more change!  So it goes in our change "jar" (really, an old CD spindle cover upside down) that we keep on the bathroom counter, which gets emptied every year or so. I take it to one of those change counters machines at the grocery store. I guess it will just remain a mystery to me, where all this change comes from!  Oh well, he finished his conversation and is no longer standing in earshot, so I can go about my day now.  That's just my 2 cents!  :)

Today's dust storm

These are becoming an almost everyday occurrence.  This one was not very big or well formed. Kind of on the lighter side, as these go.  Not a great photo of it, but I was glad I got something.  :)
